Since beginning his career in 2001, Alex Margulis has become one of the top Mortgage Bankers at PERL Mortgage Inc. From his early beginnings as a loan officer with MidAmerica Bank, later with Wells Fargo Private Mortgage Banking and finally with PERL, Alex has developed a unique approach to his business, with a simple premise – treat your customers as you want to be treated.

Alex was born in Odessa, Ukraine, and moved to the U.S. with his family in 1989. He’s been a Chicago resident ever since. He graduated Loyola University, concentrating in Business and Management Information Systems. In the early 2000’s, interest rates were on the downturn and the refinance boom was at its peak. Realizing this is a great opportunity to begin a rewarding career, Alex entered the mortgage business right out of college. The work was both enjoyable and challenging, and he put his newly acquired analytical skills to good use.

Staying true to his principals, Alex’s business grew at a fast pace. His main objective was to develop a business model of transparency, trustworthiness and honesty.

“I love helping my customers find the right fit for the home financing needs,” he says. It comes down to what fits their long term and short term financial and retirement plans, and I relish in being able to find solutions to their needs that help meet their budget and overall financial goals.”

Being on the right team was vitally important to Alex’s success. In 2007, he made a transition to PERL Mortgage. Since then, his business has flourished. Regardless of the state of the economy, Alex’s track record with his referral partners from the real estate, financial and legal fields — along with his growing satisfied client base — has solidified him as a trusted source for mortgage lending needs.
